Woman stabs boyfriend at romantic reunion
A man trying to save his rocky relationship by cooking his girlfriend a romantic dinner got her answer - when she stabbed him in the back with a carving knife.
Mia Almquist, 47, flew into a drunken rage when presents he'd bought her weren't expensive enough and rejected the dinner for two as "cheap".
Police spokesman Yngve Hansson at Lulea, northern Sweden, said: "She didn't like the presents and ripped them up with scissors.
"She was also critical of the food, and when he stood up to throw it away she approached him from behind and stabbed him in the back with a knife."
Her 39-year-old ex Anders Eriksson is recovering in hospital after losing more than a pint of blood from his wounds. The woman is being held on suspicion of aggravated assault.
